Chateau Orquevaux Residency

Owensby has been selected for a residency at Chateau Orquevaux, located in the French countryside of Champagne-Ardenne. They were awarded the Denis Diderot and Emerging Artist award. They will be in-residence in July 2024.

Past

19th Julia Margaret Cameron Awards Category Winner

Owensby's series, "It's Hard to Explain," won the non-professional series category for Digital Manipulation/Collage. The series will be exhibited at the FotoNostrum Gallery in Barcelona in April 2023 and published in FotoNostrum Magazine.


Upcoming Artist Residency at Stay Home Gallery

Next winter, Owensby will be spending a week as the artist-in-residence at the Stay Home Gallery in Paris, Tennessee.

While there, Owensby plans to continue work on her Annotations series, as well as create an installation inspired by her One Sheet for Each Day Since project.  

Me Too Monologues Post-Performance Panel

The Awakenings Center in Chicago hosted the Me Too Monologues this past October, a performance inspired by the Vagina Monologues and focused on the experiences and tales of survivors of sexual violence. Owensby was invited to speak on behalf of her publication, The Jade Plant Project, alongside other representatives from organizations that support survivors. Alongside reps from organizations such as the YWCA and The Heartland Alliance, Owensby spoke about the #MeToo movement, how we can provoke change for survivors, and self-care tips.
