Me Too Monologues Post-Performance Panel

The Awakenings Center in Chicago hosted the Me Too Monologues this past October, a performance inspired by the Vagina Monologues and focused on the experiences and tales of survivors of sexual violence. Owensby was invited to speak on behalf of her publication, The Jade Plant Project, alongside other representatives from organizations that support survivors. Alongside reps from organizations such as the YWCA and The Heartland Alliance, Owensby spoke about the #MeToo movement, how we can provoke change for survivors, and self-care tips.

Out From The Mist Exhibition

Owensby's piece, Dissociation, was selected to be shown at the Melbourne Arts Center in Melbourne, Australia, for Out From The Mist: Photographic Representations of Mental Health. Her photo was selected to be in a seven-person show at the Melbourne Arts Center, out of a pool of over four hundred photographs. Her work was also displayed at the Brisbane City Hall in Brisbane, Australia and the ABC Southbank Studios in Melbourne, Australia.

For the month of July, Owensby curated a show at Agitator Gallery featuring the artwork of survivors of sexual violence. The show featured 26 artists from around the United States and included photography, poetry, performance, film, video, painting, sculpture, and drawing.
