Hard to Kill: Survivors Exhibition

For the month of July, Owensby curated a show at Agitator Gallery featuring the artwork of survivors of sexual violence. The show featured 26 artists from around the United States and included photography, poetry, performance, film, video, painting, sculpture, and drawing. The opening and closing were packed as community members came to listen to artists present on their work and show their solidarity for survivors.

Paris Photo Prize Silver Medalist

The annual juried PX3 has selected Owensby's series, It's Hard to Explain, as a silver medalist in the Fine Arts/Collage category. Her work was be exhibited in Paris, France alongside the other winners of this prestigious competition, at the "Espace Beaurepaire".

Chicago Zine Fest

The Jade Plant Project had an awesome time at CZF 2019! We gave away about 300 zines for FREE, some of which went to Chicago Books to Women in Prison and the University of Chicago Zine Collection. A special thank you to our contributors-- without your trust, we wouldn't be able to make this difference in the lives of others.
